University Research experiences 

There are many opportunities to gain valuable experiences in college

That's true whether you are interested in becoming a doctor, researcher or engineer. 

Here is an example:

Delaware State University offers a paid summer internship in neuroscience (learn more). Students gain hands on experiences in neuroscience in a lab with a mentor, learn the basics about doing science, and present their work by sharing a poster at the end. It's fun!
